Like with previous versions, I used the createinstallmedia on the installer partition to make the installer.

I have a USB stick with a Clover partition that I used since 10.9 to install OS X. I noticed though that the install stick has 6+ GB occupied, so the installer is unlikely to rely on some sort of net install. The Application Install OS X El Capitan will appear in /Applications. I booted back into my main install, and the target volume is completely empty.

As I rebooted it, a dialog warned me that I would be interrupting the download of Mac OS (looks like I was right, the installer was re-downloading the OS). Install El Capitan Boot the computer from USB drive and select Macintosh HD Install Bootloader & Drivers Open MultiBeast 8.x Select Quick Start > UEFI Boot Mode Select Drivers > Network > Atheros > AtherosE2200Ethernet Build Open MultiBeast 5.4.
I got back home this evening to find it still stuck, so I canceled the installation. I followed the instruction but when I try to install El Capitan I only got black screen. Storage : SSD for MacOS HDD for Windows 7. Motherboard : Asus IPIBL-LB (Benicia) Bios : 5.43. I left it there for some time as a similar thing happened when I installed 10.10, but after 10 minutes it had unjammed and completed. I have a system that I want to install OSX El Capitan. Has some policy changed at Apple, for which the external installer has to re-download the OS? Previous versions had the install files right in the stick itself.Īfter that enormous download the install got stuck with a full progress bar and the ETA being 5h43m, that was the ETA when the install process began.
This never happened with any of the previous installs. hackintosh osx El capitan 10.11. Now, the installer boots fine and all, but right before beginning the actual install process, it asks me for my Apple ID and starts downloading tons of stuff - ETA is 5 hours.
